Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
This policy describes what information may be handled when you visit dotgreen.org, how it is used and what choices you have. The operator means whoever runs the publication. In this policy, “we” and “us” both stand for the operator.
Visit logs
The servers that deliver this site keep standard records of activity. An entry may contain your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the type of browser and device, and the address of the page that sent you here. Logs help us keep the site available, investigate faults and abuse, and understand in general terms which articles are being read.
Cookies and similar technology
Cookies or similar browser storage may be in use on the site. Some are required so that pages load and work correctly. Others, where enabled, count audiences, remember a setting, support advertising, or record which link led a visitor to a retailer so that affiliate referrals can be attributed. Each third party that sets cookies follows its own policies.
Browser controls and opt-out signals
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, browse privately or add extensions that limit tracking. If your browser sends a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we will honour it as an opt-out request wherever the tools we use are able to do so. Some features may work differently if you block certain cookies.
Emails and forms
If you write to [email protected] or use a form, we receive your email address and whatever else you decide to include. We use that information to read and answer you, to correct articles and to keep a record of the exchange. We never sell your messages, and we will only publish one if you give permission.
Newsletters
If a newsletter is offered, the details you provide are used to send the material you requested. Each issue explains how to unsubscribe, and you may also ask us by email to remove you from the list.
Outside services
Operating this site relies on a number of outside providers. These can include hosting and content delivery services, analytics tools, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded items such as videos, charts or maps. To make their service work, they may be given technical details about your visit. Their own terms and privacy notices apply, and we suggest you read them.
Retention
Logs on our servers are held for a limited time, after which they are erased or turned into anonymous totals. Emails are kept for as long as they help us respond, correct content or meet a legal obligation, and are deleted once that need has passed.
Exercising your rights
Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain uses, to restrict processing and to withdraw consent you previously gave. To make a request, email [email protected] and explain what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within the period the law requires.
Children
Dotgreen is intended for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. We have no intention of gathering personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, let us know and we will remove it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, such as using encrypted connections and limiting access to the inbox. Storing or transmitting data online can never be made fully secure, so we are unable to promise complete protection.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in other countries, where data protection rules may differ from those in your own. Using the site means you agree that your information may be moved and processed in this manner.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated by us occasionally. The date at the top of the page tells you when the present version came into force. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the revised policy.
